Mental & Ritual Training
Mental and ritual training is where I help you close the gap between how you play in practice and how you play when it really counts. You bring your usual nerves, doubts, and habits to the court; I help you build a calmer, tougher, more confident version of yourself that shows up on match day.
We start with simple awareness. What happens to you under pressure? Tight shoulders, rushing between points, negative self-talk, fear of missing? Once you can name it, you can change it. I teach you specific breathing patterns to reset your body, not just "take a deep breath" and hope for the best.
From there, I guide you through practical rituals: a pre-match checklist, a between-point routine, and a way to respond after errors or double faults. These are not fluffy ideas-they are short, repeatable actions that anchor your focus, slow your mind down, and keep your confidence from crashing.
We also work directly on confidence and focus. I help you replace harsh, vague self-talk with clear performance cues you can use in real time: where to aim, what to feel in your swing, how to talk to yourself when you are down a break. You practice these habits during drills and point play so they become automatic.
For juniors and adults alike, I emphasize resilience: how to stay engaged when you are behind, how to handle bad calls or tough conditions, and how to walk off the court learning from a loss instead of being crushed by it.
The goal is simple: a mind that supports your game instead of fighting it. When your mental habits and your physical skills finally line up, tennis becomes a lot more fun-and your results usually jump right along with it.
