🧠 Recommended Mental Training: Jeff Greenwald

Tennis isn't just about having the right strokes. Learning how to think, focus, and compete under pressure is a huge part of becoming a better player.

One resource I strongly recommend is Jeff Greenwald's Fearless Tennis. Jeff has spent decades working specifically on the mental side of tennis, and what I appreciate most about his approach is that it is practical and designed to be used on the court.

His work addresses many of the things players struggle with during competition—overthinking, frustration, nerves, fear of failure, losing focus, playing tight, and not being able to take your practice game into a match.

I especially recommend his Fearless Tennis online course. It is self-paced and includes video lessons, worksheets, audio resources, and exercises designed to help you actually apply the concepts to your game. The current individual courses are around $100, with lifetime access, making it a relatively inexpensive way to continue working on your mental game between lessons.

I don't recommend many outside programs—but this is one I believe can genuinely help.

If we're working together on your technique, we'll work on the swing. Resources like Fearless Tennis can help you work on the mind behind the swing. He also has two excellent books The best tennis of your life and Mental Toughness Training for Young Athletes both excellent reads.
